We will view video "Healing from Within" on October 25 at 7:00 pm. Healing From Within was Jon Kabat-Zinn's first broadcast in 1993. It is part of a PBS (Public Broadcasting System) with Bill Moyers. Jon Kabat-Zinn is Professor of Medicine Emeritus and creator of the Stress Reduction Clinic and the Center for Mindfulness in Medicine, Health Care, and Society at the University of Massachusetts Medical School. Kabat-Zinn was a student of Buddhist teachers such as Thich Nhat Hanh and Zen Master Seung Sahn. His practice of yoga and studies with Buddhist teachers led him to integrate their teachings with scientific findings.

Brahm is the popular Buddhist teacher to a growing international audience of people keen to learn meditation and develop a deeper spiritual understanding. He spent nine years studying and training in the forest meditation tradition under Ajahn Chah. He is the founding father of an emergent Australian forest tradition of Buddhist monasticism focused on being true to the original roots of the Buddha's Teaching of Dhamma and Vinaya. Pema Chödrön is a leading exponent of teachings on meditation and how they apply to everyday life. She is widely known for her charming and down-to-earth interpretation of Tibetan Buddhism for Western audiences. Pema Chödrön is an American, Tibetan Buddhist and an ordained nun. Joseph Goldstein (born 1944) is one of the first American vipassana teachers, co-founder of the Insight Meditation Society (IMS) with Jack Kornfield and Sharon Salzberg, contemporary author of numerous popular books on Buddhism, resident guiding teacher at IMS, and leader of retreats worldwide on insight (vipassana) and lovingkindness (metta) meditation. Thich Nhat Hanh is an internationally renowned Zen master, prolific author, and teacher on the subjects of peace, mindfulness, and meditation. He became a monk at the age of sixteen and went on to help found the "engaged Buddhism" movement. His life's work has been dedicated to "inner transformation for the benefit of individuals and society" and he was nominated by Nobel Laureate Martin Luther King, Jr. for the Nobel Peace Prize in 1967.
